Mixed Media Graffiti

Supplies Students to Have:

Variety of fabric scraps (no batiks please, they are difficult to hand embroider)

–       White kona cotton fabric size 16” by 7 ½ inches

–       White kona cotton 6” by 4”

–       17” by 13” backing fabric (not batiks please)

–       Fusible fleece #987 F form Pellon or Heat n Bond -high loft fusible fleece- 12” by 16”

–       Wonder under fusible web #805 by Pellon 10” by 5”

–       Colorful embroidery threads (#8 or #12)

–       ¼” double stick fusible tape *Steam a seam2*

–       Sashiko needles (my preference) or embroidery needles size 3-9 sizes

–        Needle threader

–       Basic sewing supplies you like to use for handwork

–       Marking tools: air erasable marker for light colored fabric and erasable marker for dark fabrics

–       Paper and fabric scissors

–       Rulers

1/4 inch painters tape

–       Parchment paper 17” by 12”  Reynolds or Kirkland(Costco) Brandt

–       Iron

4” by 6” piece of freezer paper

–       Snips of threads saved from previous projects. If you don’t have any, we will cut small strands from the embroidery threads you will bring to class.

–       Sturdy cup container such as a mug or similar

–       Sewing machine in good working order with a ¼” piecing foot

–       Rotary cut and small cutting mat

–       tracing paper and pencil
