Supplies Students Need To Bring
-Sewing machine in good working order, thread, bobbins and spare needles.
-Basic sewing supplies, including rotary cutter and small mat, pins, paper and fabric scissors
-Pencil and paper for taking notes
-Fabric. The New York Beauty is great with all kinds of fabrics. You can use patterns, solids, and/or stripes. Things to think about when choosing fabric? Do you want all your blocks to have the same backgrounds or different backgrounds? Do you want a clean graphic look or a scrappy look? If you want to be bold, bring along some large scale prints to experiment with.If you have fat quarters and large scraps, these are great for the arcs. Alternatively, . to . yard cuts of 5 or 6 complementary fabrics will give you enough fabric to complete a good number of arcs. Each block consists of the arc, the center and the background. You can get background for 4 blocks from 1/3yard of fabric. Five 1/2-yard cuts will give you enough backgrounds for 30 blocks. Borders will mean extra yardage.
-This is a workshop where you will be learning technique.Bring enough fabric to play with, but know you may be changing and modifying your pallet as you design your quilt. There’s a lot to fit into our workshop day, but we’ll have fun creating and inspiring one another all day long!
