Description

This is an 11" x 14" raw-edge appliqué fabric collage with hand-embroidered embellishments. The bird and the feather (symbols of freedom), a sunflower and the Ukrainian flag are highlighted. Added to this offering, is one of my handmade wood pens, turned on a table-top lathe. The pen is a rollerball, fine point, black ink, with a twist-off cap.

Paws Up! is a tribute to all of the rescue dogs and cats looking for their forever homes. Quilt pattern designed by Sheri Cifaldi Morrill of Whole Circle Studio. Machine pieced and machine quilted by Sheri. Made with 100% quilt shop quality cotton fabric, Warm and Natural cotton batting, and Aurifil cotton thread. Machine washable in cold water with gentle detergent, air dry recommended.

Description

Statement: Cross-cut Napa cabbage was harvested from my kitchen garden. I love the textural patterns inside the cross-cut cabbage so I photographed it and printed several different colors. The improvisationally-pieced quilt reminds me of the cheerful colors of a spring garden. A custom Tula Pink print comprises the quilt back. I find amusing because, as a gardener, squirrels are often the nemesis of my gardening efforts!

Batiks, ruler cut, improvisationally pieced and longarm quilted. One of my early explorations in quilting. I started by cutting stacks of Half Square Triangles and wanted to make something that had a more Contemporary look. The stacks were put aside until after my first workshop with Nancy Crow (Strip Piecing). I came home, sewed strips from the triangles, then cut them into smaller strips.

Description

Hand-dyed cotton, freehand cut, improvisationally pieced, and longarm quilted. Began as an exercise in a Nancy Crow workshop. It is one of the few quilts I made where I color matched most of the colors in the top. The back has a variety of gray threads, echoing the values and shapes on the front.

NOTE: This was intended to be a wall hanging. With hand dyed fabric there is a possible risk of bleeding when washed. Instructions will be provided.

Hurricane Harvey hit the Texas Gulf Coast in August of 2017. The eye made landfall over Rockport, Texas, a favorite beach town of many San Antonians. We dedicate this quilt to the recovery of Rockport. The design features tiny pieced sea glass on a sandy beach with waves washing over the sparkling sand.

“San Antonio Sunset”

Dimensions: 88” long by 64” wide

Group quilt by members of the San Antonio Modern Quilt Guild.

This quilt was constructed by members of the San Antonio Modern Quilt guild during the 2020 COVID lockdown. Members were given the same set of fabrics and several zoom workshops were conducted to instruct members on how to piece improvisational blocks. Each participating guild was given the same array of colors to work with. Our guild concluded that these colors reminded us all of the beautiful sunsets we are fortunate to see in our beautiful city.

Description

"Zinneas", a throw sized quilt is 59.5" x 59.5" square. It was inspired by a pattern called "Shine" by Susie Quilts. I used Art Gallery solids for the front and "Zinneas" from the Kaffee Fasset Collective on the back.

The quilt has an all-over quilted design and has been washed so it is crinkly and ready for cuddles or to spread out on the grass for a spring picnic!

The colors remind me of the sunflowers we are seeing that represent Ukraine. I loved stitching this quilt and hope it will spread the love by raising funds to help the citizens of Ukraine.
