Acrylic inks can be an easier, and more environmentally friendly alternative to dyeing fabric than using fiber-reactive dyes, but commercially made acrylic inks can be pricey and give fabric a stiffer hand without the addition of textile mediums.
In this workshop learn how easy and affordable it is to make your own fiber-friendly acrylic inks with just a few ingredients, now available in a single kit made especially for this class from Prochem. Judy will walk you through the process of measuring and mixing ingredients to make a full spectrum of permanent, colorful inks that leave fabric with a soft hand. Making textile paint will also be discussed. Judy will also help you understand some basic color theory to help you mix more vibrant brights or softer hues of your favorite colors for all your painting and dyeing needs.
