Carrie Bloomston

Carrie Bloomston studied painting at the Rhode Island School of Design (BFA,1994), then moved to the Arizona desert. Her goal is to inspire people to step into their fullest and most creative life. Carrie designs textiles for New Jersey-based Windham Fabrics, which sell around the globe. Her seventh collection, Color Theory, releases in September 2020. She wrote a book offering a road map to a creative life called The Little Spark–30 Ways to Ignite Your Creativity (Stash Books, 2014).

Additionally, Carrie teaches art to middle school students at Phoenix Country Day School (fifth and sixth grades). In her classroom, Carrie intends to help her students ignite their creative spark and to keep the bonfire burning in their hearts. She believes that art and art history take us to all the places of the human spirit. We can better connect with ourselves and others when we can understand our place in the big world and experience our emotions and shared humanity. Carrie is an ASU Gammage Teaching Artist trained in the Kennedy Center Arts Integration method.
